If I knew what MILK & Whiskey was about, we might have a larger following. Basically, we are a pair of NorCal bred siblings who live on opposite ends of the west coast. Were we to commit simultaneous felonies, Whiskey would run to Mexico and MILK would be stuck in Canada.
Whiskey is a sound guy in LA living with his hot doctor wife, his mother-in-law, and two little boys, plus a baby girl. MILK is a mostly SaHM/writer living with a Boeing engineer and two little girls. We have different families, different living situations, and different points of view about a lot, but we were raised by the same semi-functional parents and babysat by the same tv shows.
This is where we meet back up and try to make people we don’t know laugh.
I can’t believe you two haven’t got a whole page of awards for this blog! I live in Florida….actually, a kind of middle of the rear end of the earth hidden valley end of a mile long driveway barn apartment kind of place….so I’ve never seen a drive-through latte hut–with or without a clothed barrista, but the description was great and I loved the drawing. I hope you don’t mind if I invade your space occasionally for my hit of intertainment. It’s definitely good intertainment and educational about the west coast of the US.
By the way, I got here via a search on WP Reader for cat stories. I have 6 of them and I’m here to tell you that I understand your situation. I have a sticker on my fridge that says, “Cats like doors left open….in case they change their minds.” Whoever made that sticker obviously had cats.
Anyway, I was doing the search because I have been given the Liebster Award and I’m supposed to pass it along. I hope you accept it because I like your writing style and your blog deserves an award. So, having said all that (whew!) you can find information on accepting the award at flakesoflife.com, and if you don’t want it, please don’t tell me because that would hurt my feelings. (Just kidding, you don’t have to accept it if you don’t want to.) Health and wealth, joy and laughter to both of you….Vickie
Thank you! That’s very nice to hear 🙂
Hello M.I.L.K,
That was a nice story you wrote about my father and mother (Pastor Shaw and it appears you drew a picture of the mother). How my nephew ever found this article I don’t know. My mother passed away in March of 2010 but Pastor Shaw is doing well although we closed the Day Care in 2011. Please feel free to write me an email with your email so I can forward it to my father. My email is victormartindale@gmail.com. FYI I am the Trustee of the family and the name difference is Herman (Pastor Shaw) is my step father of 47 years as our biological father was killed in a terrible accident when I was 9. Pastor Shaw still lives in the same house in Palo Alto and is as sweet and given as he always was and I suppose always be will be. My sister Myra Gishi might also email you.
All The Best, Victor
Oh! This is why I first thought you were a guy, then saw from your cute drawing on your Bad Brains post that you were a girl. What a cool idea. Love both of your writings!
Hi I nominated your blog for the One Lovely Blog Award. You should have received a ping for the post I wrote but let me know if you did not! You had me at “Lies my Mother Tells”.
Well that’s awfully damn sweet of you, thanks!
Hello.
Your blog is amazing by the way! You two are hilarious.
Might you guys be interested in doing a joint blog post collaboration?
Hello,
I was looking through your site and I like what I see. I am wondering if you would be interested in working with me. I work for a cigar and cigar accessory retailer. I have some ideas on how we could collaborate on this. If you have any interest please let me know. Thank you for your time.
